GROOVIN' FEET

Groovin' Feet is a live space where musicians and dancers meet in groove, improvisation & rhythmic conversation. An experience where music, body & spontaneity melt together in real time, creating a special vibe together with everyone in the room. Pulsating energy. People in motion. No script. Just the meeting between movers & players, where magic happens in the moment. IIRIS VILJANEN is a keyboardist, pianist & composer with roots in jazz & rhythm music. In this project she moves into an electric, groove-based field with Rhodes and other keyboards at the centre. With her personal melodic world and strong stage presence, she meets the dance in an open conversation between body & sound — where swing & improvisation shape every moment. JONAS NERMYR is a choreographer, dancer & percussionist, educated at Ballet Academy Sthlm & Royal College of Music. He specializes in African-American percussive dance & body percussion, and with the body as his instrument he works at the intersection of sound & movement. As a percussionist, making rhythms & beats, and as a dancer, in a direct visual representation — often without being able to say which came first, the sound or the movement.
